- COI synopsis: Lacock, in the West Country, is the first of a handful of English villages to be owned entirely by the National Trust. The Trust is a charity, dependant on the general public for its support and its aims are to preserve places of historical interest and natural beauty. Vicki Luke, on a visit to Lacock, discovers that the National Trust has been able to preserve more than just the outward appearance of the village.
