Summary
COI synopsis: An entertainment by the elite for the elite - that’s how opera has been described in the past. The London Opera Centre certainly wouldn’t go along with that description as it’s a training ground for the concept of total theatre in opera. Diana MacLean visits there and talks to one of the centre’s greatest-ever pupils, international New Zealand singer Kiri Te Kanawa.
Researcher Comments
According to the final commentary script, other participants include the singers: Marie McLaughlin and Andrew Greenwood, and tutors Anne Cornock Taylor and Peter Gellhorn. NB: Information drawn from the Australian version.
