Summary
COI synopsis: Could you spot a future Olympics Champion in a crowd of children? London Line went to the Carnegie School of Physical Education at Leeds Polytechnic to look at some research which may one day enable us to do just that. One of the lecturers together with the doctors from Leeds’ big hospital is studying just how and when children do their growing. This will allow teachers to tailor physical education so that it will benefit young people to the very fullest extent. At the same time another team is studying just how an athlete wins events. Again, the purpose is to provide coaches with the information they need to help athletes give of their very best.
