Summary
COI synopsis: Science can frequently be startling and dramatic. But that drama is often the result of the painstaking gathering of detailed information. This programme explores how really accurate measurement can offer us greater safety or, indeed, improve our welfare. Poor old mum. Each evening is frantic: upstairs getting the kids bathed: downstairs cooking the evening meal. But help is at hand: a thermostat, wound inside a bath plug, checks the bathwater temperature and lets it drain away if it ever gets to a scalding heat, protecting the kids even when she’s not with them.
