Summary
COI synopsis: Achieving a greater standard of accuracy in analysing objects in motion is a big problem for scientists. This week we look at various new solutions to the problem of pinpointing moving objects. A new system for plotting the exact location of a free-ranging vehicle over a wide area with the aid of computers. By using a memorised map of a certain area on which each road and intersection have been electronically coded, a computer simply employs the direction of the car to assess its position instantly.
