Summary
COI synopsis: Nearly everywhere today a major concern is cutting back on waste to help preserve resources. But first, spot your waste! This issue spots a few obvious, and a few very strange areas where intriguing new ways are being developed for preventing waste. Not every line used in the building up of a television picture actually carries picture information - some are spare! Now a new system has been developed to use those extra lines. Using just two previously wasted lines, and a simple decoder in the TV set, we could have access to continuous up-to-the-minute printed news information as an alternative to the picture on the screen - all at the touch of a button.
