Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: HMS Ark Royal Returns. DESCRIPTION: In the grey light of dawn the Aircraft Carrier Ark Royal slowly made her way up Plymouth Sound to Devonport, at the end of her commission. The Ark had been launched in 1950 by Queen Elizabeth, after the loss of the previous ship of that name in 1941. The next trip Ark Royal will take is to the scrap yard but the name will live on in a ship of the new class of mini carriers. SHOTLIST: GV Ark Royal arriving in Plymouth.
