Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Hinckley Point Power Station. DESCRIPTION: A recent Royal Commission of Nuclear Power urged a restraint in this field, especially to the Fast Breeder Reactor. Scenes at the Atomic Power Station show the Reactor itself being loaded and controlled and where workers are checked for contamination before being allowed to leave the building. CU man puts pass into turnstile to admit him into a "Live" area. MS man goes through turnstile. GV interior of building to "Reactor" area. MS ditto. MS men working in the "Reactor" area. MCU fuel rods which are loaded into reactor. tilt down them. GV "Reactor" area. Tilt down. MS top of "Reactor". MS control room. MS man at control panel watching screens. CU control panel. MS men in control room. MCU man working controls. MCU lights on control panel flashing. CU ditto. MS generator room. MS part of generator. Tilt up. MS exterior area. Pull back. MS part of electricity conductors outside. MCU ditto. MS power pylon. Pan to another one. MS man at exit to live area where hands have to be checked for contamination or else he is not allowed out. MCU man’s hands in tester. Tilt up to panel light. Panel light comes on. MS man removes hands and goes out through exit. GV exterior building.
