Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Birdman Rally. DESCRIPTION: At Selsey in Sussex once again the prize of £3,000 eludes the competitors in the annual Birdman Rally. Using home-made wings the birdmen launch themselves from the lifeboat jetty and try to glide 50 metres out to sea, but for most it is just a big splash. SHOTLIST: MS man with wings in which he flaps. MS man with wings running towards camera. MS man working on his creation. Tilt up to see him. MS another man working. CU part of the machine. MS another machine. MCU above machine from front. MS man dressed as Father Christmas with sledge pulled by plastic dolphins. MS crowd on beach watching. MS Father Christmas walking out onto pier. MCU small child looking through binoculars the wrong way. MS Father Christmas about to attempt flight. He goes at 476’. MS looking down on him as he hits water.
