He also ran in the Marathon, but failed to gain a third Gold Medal, finishing in fifth placeThe team from East Germany seemed to dominate the athletics events, with Udo Beyer winning the Mens Shot Putt, Rosmary Ackermann the High Jump and Joanna Schaller the 100m Hurdles amongst their medalsThe end of the Games is celebrated with a colourful ceremony which moved one gentleman to strip-off and ‘streak’ across the StadiumThe Olympic flame was extinguished to be re-kindled in four years time for the twenty-second Olympic Games in Moscow.
