Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Falcons Free Fall. DESCRIPTION: First known as skydiving, but now more accurately named free fall. The RAF’s regular free-fall parachute team has been in existence since 1961 - for the last six years they’ve been a big attraction as The Falcons. Jumping at 12,000ft., they perform complicated tracking movements before pulling the ripcord at 2,000ft. Filmed by a camera attached to a Falcon’s crash helmet, these scenes look like an aerial ballet. In fact, the men - and the camera - are plummeting earthwards at over 130 mph. SHOTLIST: SV crash helmets on ground zoom out as Falcons pick up protective clothing & packs. CU man zips up overall. SV men strap on parachute packs. CU pan from one to other ditto. CU man puts on helmet. CU Falcons insignia on arm pan up to face. CU other Falcon looks down. CU altitude meter. Tracking shot along line of Falcons as adjust each other’s packs.
