MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Hovercraft Race. DESCRIPTION: Britain stages the first ever light hovercraft race on the Thames. Most of the craft are home-made and only ten of the twenty starters complete the five mile course. The race is to become an annual event. SHOTLIST: GV small hovercraft preparing at Hammersmith Bridge. CU large propeller of hovercraft with man refuelling behind. SCU man refuelling. SV craft No 38 Blowfly (LT Brazier). SV man starts propeller of craft. SV pan No 69 Caliban (G Kent) eventual winner is pulled along beach. SV pan No 19 KBI moves down beach towards water. CU N Beale (No 10) Air Raiser pan as he moves down beach into water. SV pan No 15 Groundhog (M Mussen) down beach into water. SV No 69 down beach into water. SV pan No 38 travelling along river. SV pan No 31 Vulcan (D Ibbotson) along river. SV pan No 69 along river. LV pan No 26 Yellow Peril (M Saunders) along river. SV Express Air Rider No 25 (J Vass) in mechanical difficulty. LV pan towards No 69 goes into a spin.
