MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Marston Moor. DESCRIPTION: A second Battle of Marston Moor - a re-enactment of the key battle of the Civil war over three hundred years ago, when the Royalists were routed. The 1969 battle was fought in intense heat and period costume - alas, with the same result. It was all part of the York Festival. SHOTLIST: Cavaliers stand by cannon in re-inaction on Marston Moor of battle between Roundheads and Cavaliers. Man loading cannon. Cavaliers with flags. Smoke from cannons. Cavalier with musket, pan to Republican Army. GV Republican army on Marston Moor. Pan lines of Republican soldiers. Cannon fired. Loading cannon. Republican officer gives order to fire. Cannon fires. Republican army pan to Royalist army. Royalists’ cannon fired. Line of Royalist soldiers stand up from kneeling position. Group of Cavaliers with pikes. Flag (Cavalier).
