MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Travel Spectacular. DESCRIPTION: The Daily Mail Transatlantic Air Race recreates the courageous trail-blazing era of Alcock and Brown. Fifty years ago, they won the prize for the first non-stop Atlantic crossing, but today, twenty-one prizes are to be won, giving a broad spectrum to the whole exciting enterprise. From Harrier Jump jet to Solo Light Plane - from scheduled Airline passenger to Phantom Pilot, a real Travel Spectacular between the Post Office Tower and the Empire State Building. SHOTLIST: MS Harrier lands at St. Pancras piloted by Squadron Leader Lecky-Thompson of the RAF. Zoom in GPO Tower. LAS ditto. MS copter hovering. LS Phantom lands at Wisley, tyres burst, Squadron Leader Waterhouse leaves plane and into copter. MS press. LS copter takes off.
