- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Shutting Out the Noise. DESCRIPTION: The Ministry of Technology has developed a new kind of apparatus which can close windows, therefore cutting down the sound of aircraft noise to a minimum. A microphone is fixed on a roof, which picks up the sound of aircraft taking off and flying over the building. When the noise reaches a certain pitch the mike triggers a special mechanism which shuts the window. SHOTLIST: LAS plane flying overhead. MLS automatic windows closing as plane flies over. MS windows opening after plane has passed. MLS microphone on roof of school. CU microphone pan up to GV plane in air. MS windows closing. LAS plane passing over school. MS windows opening pan down to MS children in classroom. MS microphone on roof. MS children in classroom pan up to windows closing. LAS plane flying over. MS windows opening after plane has gone.
