Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Walkie Talkie to the Rescue. DESCRIPTION: Leicester, in the Midlands has produced a walkie talkie system that keeps the city’s midwives in constant touch with their headquarters. The scheme has cost 10,000 pounds but the radios are expected to last 25 years without replacement. A variation of the same theme from the Ministry of Aviation Dog School, one of the dogs demonstrates the technique of getting dogs to trace a crashed aircraft and locate survivors.
