- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Australian Tour (In Colour). DESCRIPTION: Bumpy weather over Sydney and rain-storms for Britannia’s arrival. The visit coincided with an important anniversary. It began 175 years ago at Port Jackson. The first fleet to enter Sydney Heads was under the command of Captain Arthur Phillip, who became the first Governor of New South Wales. It wasn’t long before the city began to grow. Largely due to the harbour of course - one of the best in the world. It’s dominated by its world-famous bridge - the Coat-Hanger. Well over 2 million people live in Sydney. Onto Government House for the official garden party. With the tour of the big cities almost over, the Queen and Prince Philip are no doubt looking forward to seeing something of Australia’s great outback. SHOTLIST: Key scene (fade in).
