MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Princess at Charity Circus. DESCRIPTION: Princess Margaret attended a charity performance of Billy Smart’s Circus. It was sponsored by the Variety Club, and many of the Club’s leading personalities, including Billy Butlin were presented. Her Royal Highness is President of the Charity which received over £3,000. Before the Big Nite Under The Big Top started, the Princess toured the circus. Highlights of the show included an up-to-date elephant act; Karin and Ria from France, the twinkling stars high above the sawdust; and Roger Debille’s polar bears from Norway.
