Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Prelude to Premiere. DESCRIPTION: Seen arriving at London Airport, heroine of the French resistance, Madame Gille, better known as Janine Boitard. And there to meet her, Maurice Belfer, war-time news reader for the BBC’s French service. Janine Boitard who became a legend as organiser of an underground escape route, received secret instructions broadcast by Belfer. Their meeting was a prelude to the premiere of Darryl Zanuck’s epic film The Longest Day. SHOTLIST: Key scene. MS Madame Gille known as Janine Boitard. MS met by Maurice Belfer.
