Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Trooping the Colour. DESCRIPTION: Back to the discipline of peace-time ceremony: the Queen’s birthday parade, one of London’s greatest attractions. The marching and the music of the Massed Bands provided the first highlight of the ceremony. Then, the Colour was handed over for the Trooping. This year, it was the Colour of the Second Battalion Scots Guards. After the traditional trooping, the Guards marched past in salute to the Sovereign: the Sovereign’s Escort of the Household Cavalry, the Life Guards and The Blues. All along the Royal route to Buckingham Palace, many thousands have been waiting to see and admire. Over 1,600 officers and men took part in the most inspiring of peace-time parades, a magnificent spectacle, presented by a fighting force that has won imperishable glory all over the world.
