MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Dangerous Cargo. DESCRIPTION: Now, another tanker in the news: the Palma had made history on a voyage by carrying a very dangerous cargo in a new form. It’s phenol, a chemical which is an important constituent of plastics. And it’s extremely poisonous stuff. The phenol had been loaded in Scotland, where the liquifying process of heating and mixing with water had been completed. Unloading at Haifa, Israel, still demanded special care. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
