MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Visit to Perth. DESCRIPTION: Perth gave Her Majesty a splendid welcome on her first public engagement since her holiday. The 6th/7th Battalion the Black Watch (TA) provided the Guard of Honour. A particular object of the royal visit was to open the new bridge, which carries the main road to Dundee across the river Tay. Her Majesty named the new span Queen’s Bridge, and unveiled the plaque which bears witness to the occasion. The ceremony ended with musical honours by the Black Watch. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
