Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Warehouse Fire. DESCRIPTION: The fire, just off London’s Euston Road, started with a series of explosions, when a pile of rubber cables caught alight. A lot of film and stage electrical equipment was stored in the building. 60 firemen tackled the blaze, which threatened adjacent clothing factories, and a hundred people had to be evacuated from houses near-by. The warehouse and its contents were pretty well burnt out, but the Brigade prevented other damage or loss of life. SHOTLIST: Key scene - GV smoke and fumes coming out of burning warehouse.
