Kootenay Indian Chief Nichols was present, when Rear Admiral Spencer accepted the ship on behalf of the Queen. She is Canada’s newest and probably most effective submarine killer. Climax of the commissioning ceremony was the hoisting of the ensign. SHOTLIST: HMCS ‘Kootenay’ (key). GV same. CU same. MS guns - pan to radar tower. CU depth charge mortars.
