Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Arms Found in House in Cyprus. DESCRIPTION: From a bungalow in a Nicosia suburb, a Greek Cypriot Police Officer named Houvardas was led away under arrest, he was followed by his wife. In their house, in a hide-out under a bed was discovered an arsenal of weapons and hundreds of sticks of dynamite. It was decided that the ammunition and explosive should be blown up, bungalow and all. SHOTLIST: GV bungalow in a Nicosia suburb (x2). GV Greek Cypriot Officer Houvardas is led away. MS his wife is led out. MS policeman showing arms hideout in bungalow. CU dynamite in under floor hideout. MS policeman carries out picture of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. MS laying cable for explosive. MS soldiers crouched behind sandbags. GV explosion as bungalow is blown up. GV rubble.
