- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Princess Margaret’s Tour. DESCRIPTION: Scenes at the Mwanza, where primitive Bungunguli took their pets into the rhythmic riot of stamping, swaying dancers. At Arusha, the District Commissioner of Masailand was presented. While in Tanganyika, Her Royal Highness visited the Williamson Diamond Mines. At Mr Kuenzler’s Animal Farm at Arusha, Her Royal Highness was invited to choose two young zebras, as a gift for Prince Charles and Princess Anne. SHOTLIST: Scenes of the Baraza at Mwanza, where primitive dances were performed in front of her Royal Highness. Snake dancers in action. At Arusha, Mr Townsend the District Commissioner of Masailand (Peter Townsend’s brother) presented to the Princess. Princess Margaret visits the Williamson Diamond Mines. Various shots of machinery in action. Diamonds being sorted. The Princess visited the Tanganyika reserves. Flying over game. Shot of game roaring, lions and other wild beasts. Feeding giraffes, leopards, zebras, baby rhino. CU giraffe’s head. She also visited a wild animal farm and whilst there selected 2 zebras as gifts for Prince Charles and Princess Anne. The Princess showed great interest in a baby rhino.
