Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Princess in Zanzibar. DESCRIPTION: At Zanzibar the Princess’s arrival was marked by a 21 gun salute. She was received by the Acting Resident Mr Robert Alford, later her Royal Highness was welcomed by the 77 year old Sultan, Seyyid Sir Khalifa Bin Harub and the Sultana. During her visit Her Royal Highness met and talked with many of the Protectorate’s leading citizens of all nationalities. The royal visit had proved an outstanding success. SHOTLIST: Arrival was marked by a 21 gun salute. She was received by the Acting Resident Mr Robert Alford. Later Her Royal Highness was welcomed by Sultan Seyyid Sir Khalifa Bin Harub and the Sultana. Drums, people dancing. People dancing with swords and staves. Coconut trees. Same falling. Women sorting cloves. Gifts presented by centenarian Agnes Sudi and her sister. President General presents casket. Garden party. Shaking hands at garden party.
