MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Route & Royal Regalia. DESCRIPTION: A model of the Coronation route (one 200th of actual size) has been made at the Ministry of Works to help officials in charge of arrangements and the planning of decorations. We also have a preview of the Crown Jewels - the magnificent and historic regalia kept in the Tower of London. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. King George VI Coat of Arms. Various shots of the model of the route for the coronation being prepared & shots of the almost finished articles. Panning along the Mass, Trafalgar Square, down Whitehall. Shots of Westminster Abbey showing Parliament Square. Mix to Imperial State Crown, Orb & Sceptre. SCU Imperial State Crown, mixing to CU of same, which is pivoting to show its beauty, including the Black Prince’s ruby. CU top of the staff of the Royal Sceptre. CU of same being slowly turned round. CU Sword of State, & commissionaire holding same upright by the hilt. MS Golden Spurs laying on velvet. CU hilt of the Jewelled Sword of State. CU of sword being taken out of scabbard. Three crowns, left to right - Queen Elizabeth’s the Queen Mother, Queen Mary’s, & Princes of Wales Crown. CU of same in the above order.
