Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Passing-Out Parade. DESCRIPTION: This year, it was Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir John Slessor, Chief of the Air Staff, who took the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV parade with college in background. Slessor arrives, alights from car, walks past camera. GV parade. Cavalry officer addresses Slessor saying that the parade is ready for his inspection. Slessor inspects parade, various shots. Various shots of marching, all angles. GV whole parade advance towards Slessor, to the march British Grenadiers. Slessor presents Sword to cadet. Cadet Senior Under Officer Pease-Watkins, prior to presentation, Slessor addresses parade saying . that the fighting in Korea has proved once again that even in the mechanised army, physical fitness, the ability to march, and ability of the foot soldier to use ground are just as necessary as ever. Various shots of troops & colours being marched off parade ground into college. Finish on cavalry officer’s horse mounting steps & entering college.
