Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Korea - Clearing Up & Wake Island Meeting. DESCRIPTION: Action in Korea has now swept North far beyond the 38th Parallel and new pictures from Seoul are vivid evidence of the toughness of the battle. Mr Truman leaves Washington Airport on his way to the dramatic rendezvous on Wake Island with General MacArthur. SHOTLIST: KS. Tanks along road - mix. GIs etc. in action (street actions). Various shots of same. Buildings burning. Snipers shooting. Tanks pass along street. Prisoners (only youths) being searched hundreds in camp. Shots of them being handed food in basins & eating same greedily. General MacArthur walks over countryside viewing position, two shots. CU MacArthur. Truman alights from car at Washington Airport. SCU him & his wife. SCU Truman & Acheson. Truman half up gangway into plane turns & waves, posing for cameras.
