Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Century of Fashions. DESCRIPTION: At the Grosvenor House, London, the Draper’s Chamber of Trade held their Jubilee display showing fashions during the past century. These were worn by many people who turned mannequins for the occasion, including Jessie Matthews and Jill Balcon. SHOTLIST: KS. GV Interior of hotel room, guests seated. Various shots types of fashions starting from 1855 up to the present day. This is to mark the Draper’s Chamber of Trade Jubilee. First model is Barbara Lyon (daughter of Ben). Winifred Shotter dressed for croquet in 1864. Adeline Shay as nursemaid 1864. Jill Balcon in dress of 1880 (x2). Roberta Huby & Geoffrey Steele cycling outfits 1890’s. Winifred Shoter as suffragette 1911. Jessie Matthews in Edwardian court dress. CU Jessie Matthews. Charmian Innes & Geoffrey Steele in Edwardian bathing costumes. .
