- Summary
- Japanese guards remove the prison barricades. The skeleton-like prisoners scramble for cigarettes. Allied troops enter Singapore and are joyfully welcomed by the people. Publication of the first edition of the English newspapers "Straits Times". People watch the Japanese who are made to clear up the rubble. Lord and Lady Mountbatten see the inside of a prison camp and meet former prisoners. The men who are fit enough stage a parade for Lord Louis.
