Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Youth and Recreation. DESCRIPTION: Field Marshal Lord Montgomery re-opens the Paddington Recreation Ground, it had been used as allotments during the war. A hundred British children from LCC schools won a holiday in Holland. In Sydney, four month old Jimmy, is a whiz at balancing even before he can crawl. SHOTLIST: London - KS GV crowds at Paddington Recreation Ground. MS Monty with Mayor on rostrum. SCU Monty speaking about the new ground. Monty walks up to tape and cuts same. Starts walking round the cinder track. Children rush through gate into grounds. GV of recreation ground. Children on slide. HOLLAND - GV tulip fields, several shots. GV town of Edam with river running through centre and picturesque bridge over same. At Volendam English children talk (silent) with Dutch fishermen. SCU Dutch fishermen. MS children singing (silent). SYDNEY - SCU baby drinking milk from bottle. Father picks up baby and several shots of baby balancing on the palm of his hand. LONDON KIDS ENJOY HOLIDAY IN HOLLAND - CARD 50204. Good Scenes: English children laughing (as an audience). Silhouette - children stand on beach (back view of them) looking out to sea, sun setting on the water. GV Town of Edam, with bridge across canal - picturesque. Several shots of fields of tulips in full bloom. MS Small group of tulips.
