Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Lightweight Champion - Billy Thompson. DESCRIPTION: Billy Thompson convincingly defeats Stan Hawthorne for the British and Empire Lightweight Title. SHOTLIST: KS MS Stan Hawthorne acknowledging crowds from the ring. Thompson walks over and shakes hands with Hawthorne. Start of the fight. Both sparring. Shots during second round show Thompson hitting Hawthorne who is on the ropes. Hawthorne goes down three times for counts, bell saves him on last count. Round three - Thompson slaughtering Hawthorne, referee stops fight and holds up Thompson’s arm. Thompson’s seconds embrace him.
