MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Footnote to the Crisis. DESCRIPTION: To help us through this crisis we take a look back at how Britain pulled together during the war years. SHOTLIST: LIBRARY COMPILATION -. KS GV Houses of Parliament as seen across river. GV Dunkirk beaches looking from sea, troops wade out. Trails of fighters across sky, taking evasive action. Pan of workers active in turnery. Three Spitfires take off together. High elevated shot of London burning during blitz. SCU group of three soldiers of 8th Army. British troops pass through jungle single file into camera. GV French beaches, shows LCT off beaches and men making landings, troops of 2nd Army. Formation of Lancaster bombers over camera. GVs destroyers full steam ahead at sea. GV New Palace Yard, Westminster. GV solemn crowds in Whitehall on Armistice Day. MS interior - Security Council sitting. Mostly women queue for food. Queue for coal in poorer class district, along brick wall. SCU No 10 Downing Street. MS door of same opening. CU Attlee seated at desk not talking. Montage - taken from Charles Ridley’s short of workers very active. Mr Churchill walks through crowded streets of ruined town. Monty jumps off LCI onto French beach, starts to walk up same. Elevated pan of crowds listening to Mr Churchill (unseen) at Blenheim Palace. CU Union Jack to finish.
