MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Bikini - Atom Bomb No 5. DESCRIPTION: The latest explosion at Bikini Atoll was underwater and sent a giant water spout miles into the air. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS clouds. Submarines being submerged in the Lagoon. Flag signal goes up and the men leave the atom bomb craft. Admiral Parsons boards the USS Mount McKinley - reports to Admiral Blandy. Scenes on board - scientists to secret room etc. Men with binoculars and camera on deck. Checking clocks etc. in Control Room. CU clock with hand moving through seconds of countdown. Dr Holloway moves a switch. CU man counting. GS of explosion - camera turning. GS explosion - gigantic water spout. Radio-controlled plane in flight. LS explosion. Different view of explosion as taken from plane. Plane passes cloud. Aerial view of explosion. Huge wave approaches ships at anchor - LS. LS target ships. Scenes of explosion as taken from tower of Bikini. Wave towards camera. Testing radio-activity with Geiger counters. Destroyer Hughes sinking. Nagato (battleship) was listing.
