MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Burmese Water Festival. DESCRIPTION: In Rangoon the Burmese New Year is ushered in with a Water Festival and everyone gets a real soaking. SHOTLIST: KS GV Burmese throwing water over people, pagoda in background. Various shots of Burmese throwing water over one another, some even have hose-pipes. People get drowned as they pass. British soldier objects to same. Cameraman alights from jeep with camera drenched to the skin. Indian troops also get very wet.
