MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Blowing Up Surplus Ammo. DESCRIPTION: At Trawsfynydd in North Wales, men of the Explosives Disposals Unit, RAOC are setting off spectacular explosions to destroy old ammunition. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS LS cordite beginning to burn. Train pulls into station, unloading from train onto lorries, which are driven to dump. Shots of cases, shells etc. being stacked ready for exploding, fusing same. Firing same by electric box control. Various shots of cordite burning, small arms ammo., shells etc. exploding, also heavy and rocket shell exploding, very good explosive material. Traffic being stopped by military police. Also CU danger sign in English and Welsh. This is the Royal Army Ordnance Corp.
