- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Roosevelt’s Funeral. DESCRIPTION: The coffin of President Roosevelt lay in the White House, where many came to pay their last respects. It was afterwards borne to its last resting place at Hyde Park. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Capitol, Washington, cortege passes along road entering White House, coffin followed by Mrs Roosevelt, & other members of the family. Members of Congress enter White House, followed by arrival of Earl of Athlone, then Harry Hopkins. Inside White House, coffin surrounded by flowers, wreaths etc. Anthony Eden arrives, followed by Mr Dewey. Elevated shots of cortege passing through crowded streets of Washington, troops, naval personnel, Air Force, Army transport, all took part in procession. Cut-ins of people weeping, etc. At Hyde Park, coffin borne to graveside, where Mr & Mrs Truman are standing. GV of coffin being lowered into grave, West Point Cadets form Guard of Honour, fire salute, then the "Last Post" is sounded. Meanwhile camera pans around graveside, showing crowds of people assembled.
