- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Monty’s New Offensive. DESCRIPTION: The push into Germany by United Kingdom and Canadian troops was preceded by a "Monty" barrage. Foot soldiers followed behind flail tanks on the move forward. Canadians advanced across flood waters in amphibious vehicles. Thousands of German prisoners have been taken, they were surrendering on many fronts. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of 5.5 guns & Bofors being fired preceding opening of offensive. Churchill tanks into camera along road. Various shots of Churchill tanks in line crossing fields. Scorpion tanks clearing mined paths. Infantry follow behind them, advancing etc. Infantry approach Reichswald forest. Canadian troops climb aboard amphibious tanks "Alligators" which are seen going through flooded areas. Wounded carried off field, various shots of prisoners coming in, small groups, individually, etc., one German has Red Cross on him, he is of the Herrenvolk, more prisoners arrive.
