MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Battle for Shaggy Ridge. DESCRIPTION: The latest pictures from the New Guinea front tell the story of the battle of "Shaggy Ridge". Australian troops needed to take the Ridge as part of the drive towards Madang. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of Aussies, crossing the Shaggy Ridge - Ramu Valley. Also cross River Faria. Elevated shots of Valley. Aussies trek along mountain paths followed by natives. LS Mitchells & Kittyhawks bombing Shaggy Ridge, elevated shot of explosions caused by same. Kittyhawk dive bombs. Shots of machine gun & mortar fire, followed by explosions in hills. Wounded on stretchers, some walking make their way through jungle. CU Eric Knight - wounded - killed four Japs. CU of stretcher case have time of his last morphia painted on his forehead. GS of Aussies in trench pass equipment along same, Aussies trek up side of Ridge.
