MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: England’s Soccer Victory. DESCRIPTION: The King was present at Wembley for the International match between England and Scotland. The victory went to England by six goals to two. SHOTLIST: Cut story - England & Scotland teams running out, presented to King. Cullis & Busby, with Wood referee, toss up. Elevated shot of kick off, elevated shot of play, Matthews with ball, attacked by Stephens, passes to Hagan who scores first goal. Cut-ins of Royal Box, shows CU Montgomery applauding, also in RB is Attlee, Princess Elizabeth, & of course the King & Queen. MS of Princess Elizabeth next to Montgomery. Dodds (Scotland) scores, cut-ins crowds cheering, waving etc. L Smith centres & McCaulay puts ball through own goal. Lawton scores, Hagan scores, several shots of Matthews dribbling with ball. Mercer scores. Carter scores. Dodds scores again for Scotland, the above is the ordering of scoring. King Haakon also present. Ditchburn makes some good saves. Various shots of play. Teams: England - L Scott (Arsenal & RAF), GF Hardwick (Middlesbrough).
