MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sicilian Victories. DESCRIPTION: Report number five from Sicily shows the Generals in conference before the final drive on Etna. The Eighth Army has maintained continuous pressure on the Catania line, whilst the Americans have cleared up in the West and worked round to the North. SHOTLIST: Cut Story - Various shots of Sherman tanks advancing along road. CU of Monty, Alexander & Patton. CU Monty with Simonds. CU Patton with Bedell-Smith. Alexander with Monty & Patton. LS single file troops winding their way along hilly road, also elevated shots of transport & tanks along mountain road. LS of hilly country around Mount Etna. Machine gunner places gun in position & firing. LS smoke rising from burning targets. CU Sherman, firing mortars GS of same. Canadians open up artillery barrage, various shots from wooded section of country. LS of smoke rising with flashes of which appear to be phosphor bomb explosions (VG).
