- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mediterranean Miscellany. DESCRIPTION: Wounded from Tunisia leave Tripoli on their way to Alexandria to recover. During their passage by lighter to the hospital ship they were entertained by bandsmen of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The men on the Mediterranean front get the biggest boost by a "letter from home". The Indian Division have captured some booty, small arms and ammunition. American "Bostons" carry out another raid strafing axis troops. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Tripoli. Wounded carried aboard lighters & GS stretchers on deck. Alongside hospital ship ‘Maine’ & pan up of stretcher hoisted aboard. In Tunisia Eighth Army troops rush to military postman, letters handed out, one soldier unlucky, walks away, camera pans with him, he sits beside kit, digs out old letter & reads same. GV soldier bathing in small tub. MS windmill with storks nest on top, pan down to troops hauling water from well. MS soldier showing Arab how to dance ‘Hands, Knees & Boomps A Daisy’, Arab does dance on own. Shots of booty including large siege guns, also French 75’s. Troops on gun barrels (Indian Division), also inspect mortars & small artillery. Elevated of Medjez el Bab Valley & transport through same. Churchill tanks along road, into camera & various angle shots, over camera. Bostons in flight into camera. Look down shot nose of Boston with aerial of sand dunes & desert background (very good). About 30 bombs falling from Boston. Smoke from targets (Olive grove), aerial. Me109 in flight & attacking, cut-in, planes of Medjez & Me109 dropping bomb, camera pans down with bomb & it hits the ground, explosion. Angle shots of ME’s crashing & falling (don’t see crash). One plane on fire.
