MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Round the Clock Raids - Cologne. DESCRIPTION: The Royal Air Force continue their ‘round the clock’ raids on targets in Germany and occupied Europe. Berlin and Cologne have both been recent targets, whilst factories, transport, shipping and docks have all been heavily hit. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Australian Squadron of RAF standing on & under the wings of a Lancaster, also pan along wings. MS & CU of W/C Gomm & two Squadron Leaders speaking about raid. Raid damage of various districts in London. CD working on removing debris. Several water mains burst as well as phone connections. (Library) Formation of Blenheims flying through clouds, & approaching Philips Works, Eindhoven, various aerial shots. CU bomb doors open, few bombs falling, & aerial shots of hits on targets, night shot of control tower signalling & Lancaster taking off. Aerial daylight shots of Cologne, & diagramatic drawing of same, also two damaged points as seen under microscope. Aerial shots as reconnaissance crosses Rhine, various factories hit. Cologne Cathedral untouched. Night photography of burning Cologne, various shots.
