MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Kittyhawks (Hawks of the Air). DESCRIPTION: In Australia Fighter Pilots from the Battle of Britain and Middle East demonstrate the American built ‘Kittyhawk’ fighter. SHOTLIST: Line of Kittyhawks. Officers talking amongst themselves. Shot of engines warming up. Shots of pilots. Kittyhawks taxiing across ‘aerodrome with mechanics sitting on wings. Planes take off into & over camera. Plane takes off SV. Planes take off, shots taken from rear of one of the planes. Good shot of planes in formation above the clouds. Ground staff looking up at planes. Line of Kittyhawks above clouds, peeling off to ‘attack’. Special shot plane doing Victory Roll. Kittyhawk diving to attack, shots show plane coming in (cameraman in another plane being target). Planes diving on an aerodrome, sweeping across aerodrome, very good photography. Plane diving on camera. Good shot of planes above clouds in formation. Shot of pilots included: Jeffrey, Rawlinson, Fisher, Truscott & Wawn. This film is to show capabilities of the Kittyhawk. The Kittyhawk, Tomahawk & Curtiss P40 are the same, expect that the Kittyhawk is a later version, but externally the same.
