MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: United Nations Day. DESCRIPTION: There was a march through London to mark United Nations Day and the King was on the saluting base outside Buckingham Palace. SHOTLIST: 1. Royal Party arrive on dais in front of Buckingham Palace. 2. Shot of Winston Churchill. 3. Shots of dais showing L to R: King Haakon of Norway, King Peter of Yugoslavia, His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, President Sikorski of Poland, President Benes of Czechoslovakia, Princess Elizabeth, Princess Margaret Rose. 5. Shot of march past. 6. Royalties leave dais followed by shot of de Gaulle, Mr Winant and other important personalities. 7. Finally a shot of the crowd storming the Palace. 8. There were the band of the NFS and RAF etc., also the bagpipes. Aylesbury Section 1. General view of Market Square. 2. The Mayor, (Mrs Olive Paterson) who reads the Prime Minister’s message. 3. The flags of China, Holland, Russia, and America are carried to the place of Honour beside the Union Jack. 4. Pan shot of the Market Square during ceremony. 5. Close-up includes USA troops Guard of Honour and presenting arms. 6. March past of US troops, British troops, ATS and RAF.
