Summary
Pathe synopsis: Come to a land of sunshine - a land bulging with good things - a land where they pick oranges along the roadside and bask in midwinter mediterranean warmth. Israel, the citrus paradise where the names are as old as time but the trend is up-to-date. Tel-Aviv, the capital of this go-ahead young state is barely fifty years old and the techniques they use in the citrus fruit orchards are ahead of their time. They’ve got to keep pests down with a radio-controlled manoeuvre that ensures the quality of oranges where everyone’s a Jaffa. And in a land of sunshine fruit there’s a surprise. At the Herzliya hotel school they train young caterers in the art of preparing a whole banquet based on oranges, lemons and grapefruit, from lemon soup, duck a l’orange and even potatoes with the citrus flavour.
