- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Malaya Is Ready. DESCRIPTION: The threat of war in the East had long been menacing the Malay Peninsular, but steps have been taken to improve its defences. General Percival (GOC Malaya) recently watched exercises in the company of the Sultan of Johore. SHOTLIST: Hudsons fly in formation and anti-invasion measures are erected on the beaches. Lt General Percival (GOC Malaya) and the Sultan of Johore watch manoeuvres through the jungle in which camouflage plays an important part. Bren carriers are repaired and armoured cars race down the roads and through villages where the native population turns out to wave.
