Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Anglo-US Mission to USSR. DESCRIPTION: Lord Beaverbrook and Mr Harriman travel to Moscow first by sea to Archangel and then by plane. Mr Vyshinsky was waiting to greet the members of the Anglo-American Mission. SHOTLIST: Various shots of President Roosevelt’s meeting with Mr Churchill at Mid-Atlantic. Lord Beaverbrook and Mr Harriman also met. Then Lord Beaverbrook and Mr Harriman went by sea on a cruiser to Archangel, various scenes on board the cruiser, where they changed onto a Russian Destroyer. Later they finished their journey by air to Moscow. At the airfield they were met by Mr Vyshinsky, Admiral Kuznetsov and M Reyakin and Sir Stafford Cripps. Mr Harriman was first to be greeted and the Lord Beaverbrook. Then the three National Anthems were played and the Guard of Honour was inspected. Later there was a march past of the Soviet troops. Various shots of Stalin and Molotov, President Roosevelt, and of Mr Churchill to end the story. Famous shots of Churchill with "stick through arms". Also a shot of "Hammer & Sickle", "Union Jack", "Stars & Stripes" flying together.
